Gentle Yoga Poses to Improve Your Immune System

Draw the knees to chest to deeply release back, hips and mind.

It’s nearly winter season and changes again in nature and our bodies. Temperatures are cooler, the air dryer, and can trigger imbalances such as allergies, colds, body aches, dry skin, and digestive issues. We are all made up of the elements of nature, so to bring more balance within, we need to re-align ourselves with nature and balance our Air element.

It’s important to get the body and mind ready for season changes, like Winter. When we are aligned with nature we become more balanced and the immune system is stronger. No one likes being unwell, so make a start now before Winter arrives. Slow down with activities that burn you out and take time out for you.

Kevala Health's live yoga classes during May will be focusing on specific Chakra yoga poses and meditations to balance our Air Element within. Learn how to slow down, support ourselves and find more stability in body, mind, and living.

We are offering a free 14-day trial for live-stream yoga and Pilates online classes.

Autumn is a good time to let go of what no longer nourishes us. Like trees, drop their dead leaves and prepare for rest in Winter. Our bodies and minds need to rest and let go of the old!

To help boost our immune system in Autumn, we suggest participating in Yoga, regular meditation, healthy eating, and more self-care. Using natural essential oils every day will also help boost the immune system. More information on Kevala Health essential oils and yoga.

7 Tips to Boost the Immune System

  1. Simplify your living: Start to do less and rest more. Aim to begin each day calmly. Reduce the clutter in your house.

  2. Walks in nature: Take walks in nature, be outside, and have less screen time to improve your immune system. Maybe try some camping or Hiking.

  3. Yoga and Meditation: Try restorative yoga, yin gentle yoga, or meditation to give the immune system a big boost. You can listen to Jodie’s calming Chakra 15-minute meditation in this video blog.

  4. Eat more vegetables: Aim to eat warmer meals as we get closer to Winter. Even try one veggie juice a day or more delicious soups. More healthy eating tips.

  5. Steady routines: Go to bed similar time and get good quality sleep. Make sleep your priority. Do your exercise routines at regular times.

  6. Decrease Stress: More meditation and yoga will help manage your stress. Less screen time will also help with stress.

  7. Learn to let go: Let go of the past. Let go of judging yourself and others. Let go of expectations. Holding on to things that don’t make us feel good, only makes us sick and affects the immune system!

During May in Kevala Health live stream yoga online classes, we will focus on boosting our immune system by opening up the Lungs, Heart, and large intestine meridian lines.

These classes are a blend of Yang and Yin Yoga poses, for calming and releasing to stronger poses to build resilience and inner strength. All these classes will help with digestion, improve sleep and strengthen mental health. You will also learn more about yoga for Chakras.

Every month Kevala Health live stream Yoga classes focus on new themes to strengthen the body and mind and re-align with nature.
